Original era manufacture. Schleuter mfg rear seam shell in original paint with swivel bales and original sewn dark OD canvas chinstraps. Period, handpainted white Captain's bars on front and the officers name and serial number painted on the inside rim edge, Owen J. Walsh, 050345. Firestone marked plastic liner in original paint with white captain's bars at front. Light OD canvas webbing with an original sweatband and non-adjustable nape strap. Matching name and service number painted on the inside edge. Original leather liner chinstrap with a black metal buckle. The leather is not broken, but dry. Only flaw is that the liner suspension webbing has pulled away in one spot, the rearmost mounting position. Good research potential.
