Original era manufacture. Late war production rear seam helmet shell with a non stainless steel edge. Original sewn light OD chinstraps with darkened brass fittings. Rough texture exterior finish to the shell with a smooth interior finish. The paint has a slight gloss to it so perhaps may be a period repaint. Where the paint finish is worn there is a steel patina or light rust visible. Plastic liner made by Mine Safety Appliances with a light OD suspension including an adjustable Nape strap. Original paint exterior with some light wear around the edges of the liner. Original leather chinstrap with black painted steel buckle and connectors. With the helmet at the time of our purchase is this dark OD net with a Vietnam eraelastic band.
