Original period manufacture. Uncut 16 inch blade bayonet made by American Fork and Hoe (AFH) Company and dated 1943. Overall dark originalfinish to the blade, guard and pommel, with the normally seen parkerized finish. There are a two very small nicks in the cutting edge, nothing terrible, more felt than seen.While doing this little update to the bayonet's description, I happened to notice that the plastic grips are the early style reddish-brown color, instead of the more commonly seen black plasticOriginal green plastic scabbard with the Ordnance Bomb proof on the throat, with traces of old cosmoline remaining. A sound bayonet which has not been sharpened, a very clean example.From an old Southern California collection.
