Original period manufacture. Uncut 16 inch blade bayonet made by American Fork and Hoe (AFH) and dated 1942. This manufacturer of 1905-42 bayonets, produced around 350,000 of these in 1942 and 1943. Many of those were later modified by having their blades cut down to 10 inches. Parkerized finish to the blade surface, with the tip retaining it's proper configuration. Scattered clumps of cosmoline remaining on the surffaces, no pitting or sharpening. Most of the original finish remains on the guard and pommel, the lock mechanism works properly, Sound set of brown plastic ribbed grips. Original finish to the fiber glass scabbard body, mix of original finish and light surface corrosion on the scabbard throat. We have not made any attempt to clean this bayonet, just a very basic wipe-off, should clean up to be a very nice bayonet.
