Original period manufacture. Uncut 16 inch blade bayonet made by American Fork and Hoe (AFH) and dated 1942. This manufacturer of 1905-42 bayonets, produced around 350,000 of these in 1942 and 1943. Many of those were later modified by having their blades cut down to 10 inches. Mix of parkerized and steel patina finish to the blade surface, with the point being slightly rounded.  No pitting or sharpening to the blade. Most of the original finish remains on the guard and pommel, the lock mechanism works properly, Sound set of black plastic ribbed grips. Original finish to the fiber glass scabbard body, mix of original finish and light surface corrosion on the scabbard throat. The steel throat is stamped USN MK1, instead of the Ordnance Bomb.
