Original period manufacture. Uncut, 16 inch bladed bayonet made by Union Fork and Hoe, and dated 1942. Parkerized finish, no nicks in the cutting edge, no surface corrosion with most of the original finish remaining intact. Mix of steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, the lock button works properly, and the ribbed plastic grips are nice and crisp. Sound, original finish OD plastic scabbard with an Ordnance Bomb proofed steel scabbard throat. There are minor nicks and dents along the edges of the scabbard, and a touch of surface corrosion on the surface of the belt-hook securing loop.
