Original era manufacture. A very clean example of a bayonet which modified during the early days of WWII.  Originally produced with a 16 inch blade by Springfield Armory in 1912,  it was then cut-down to its present 10 inch length, given a parkerized finish and placed in this WWII era plastic scabbard.The blade retains most of its original parkerized finish, with a clipped, Bowie-style point. Sound black plastic grips with original finish to the plastic scabbard. Overall the bayonet and scabbard appear to have seen very little service use during WWII.
