Original era manufacture. This is an interesting helmet in that the shell and chinstrap are in very sound condition but the liner and top pad show considerable wear and are in poor condition. Almost looks as if a previous owner had a very hard time while wearing this helmet. As I said, the helmet shell has nearly 100% of its interior and exterior paint with a rough combat finish. Also, the khaki chinstrap is very nice and is complete with its darkened brass fittings. This is an excellent candidate for restoration, as the liners on this pattern helmet are easily swapped out. Classic pre, and early WWII helmet worn during the Pearl Harbor, Wake Island and Philippine attacks.
