Original era manufacture. The last example, of the five Kelly helmets we purchased at the beginning of the year.Like the others, a solid example with nearly 100% of the smooth OD combat finish remaining on the exterior of the helmet. Original, light OD, adjustable chinstrap with light staining from use, no holes or tears, just a small amount of surface fraying where the strap loops over the helmet edge.Solid leather liner of a dark hue, showing normal age, being slightly stiffened from age, the fingers are pliable, all of the leather lacing is present, and the top pad is in place. There is evidence of mouse nibbling on the edge of the liner on one side. Overall a sound example of the early WWII US helmet.
