Original period manufacture. Swivel bale, front seam, non-reflective edge steel helmet, with original sewn Airborne pattern light OD canvas chinstraps with darkened brass fittings. Original paint to the exterior, with the interior of the helmet showing a repaint, an apparent attempt at covering up a previous owners name. Deeply scratched into the interior surface is MAY 2nd(?) 1943, and in raised letters, overpainted green, the name Bridges. An additional name and other information in white paint also can be seen but it is blurred from wear from the helmet liner. The swivel bales do not move at present, but should with a little oil applied, and the connecting points of the canvas chinstraps display considerable wear as shown. Still a cool old helmet with good research potential.
