Original era manufacture. Complete, early pattern M3 knife displaying a maker marked blade and date of 1943. At some point in its life the soldier attempted to straighten the guard by bending up the slanted portion. In so doing he created a small gap between the bottom of the grip and the top of the guard. No big deal, it would most likely go away if rebent. The blade retains a fair amount of its original finish, the edge has been lightly sharpened with some shallow dings to the top of the spine. The point is sharp. Nice leather leather grip, no missing pieces with a few spots of scattered garage paint to keep it honest. The M6 scabbard is basically sound with the M1910 belt hook having been cut away. The pommel strap is present but quite dry and looks like it will break easily if handled often. Honest, early pattern GI fighting knife.
