Original era manufacture. A very clean example of a military grade M3 knife but without any makers marks anywhere. Most of the finish remains on the blade, lightly sharpened cutting edge (more so on one side than another)and a sharp tip. Typical stacked leather grip with a few small spots of chipping in evidence. At the pommel there are cut-outs in the bakelite wedge for an M4 bayonet press points. On the pommel itself are 7 carefully carved notches, wonder what they mean. Sound later pattern M8 scabbard with an attached M1910 belt hook.
