Original period manufacture. Early production M3 fighting/utility knife made by Kinfolks. Blade marked, with an Ordnance Bomb proof on it's pommel. The blade displays the Kinfolks name and retains most of it's original finish. There is a series of ragged bumps on the blade spine and a chip in the upper cutting edge, done by a previous owner who appreciated this old knife only as a tool. Sound, stacked leather grip with good color and no chipped or missing segments. First pattern M8 scabbard with a light OD canvas belt loop and pommel strap, without the M1910 belt hook. According to M.H.Cole's book two, "A Collection of US Military Knives", he states total production of the M3 knife by Kinfolks to be 135,548 units of all varieties, blade marked & dated, blade marked only no date and guard marked.
