Original era manufacture. A blade marked example, US M3-UTICA, little of the blade finish remains. Some cuts in the blade edge, with evidence of an old sharpening.Steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with a sound stacked leather grip, no missing or cracked segments. Just normal wear and use. Guard is loose. US M8 late pattern scabbard made with the provision for the M1910 belt hook. Shows age and wear.
