Original era manufacture. Front seam, reflective edge helmet with original sewn light OD chinstraps with blackened steel fittings. The helmet's exterior shows a gloss dark OD paint over its original factory finish with the original paint remaining on the interior. There are a few dings and dents in the helmet's surface nothing dramatic just typical soldier use. The WWII liner is made by Westinghouse and shows a mix of light and dark OD webbing with an adjustable nape strap in place. The leather chinstrap is intact but a bit dry with a green colored steel adjusting buckle. Perhaps the most interesting feature regarding the helmet is the hand applied name and serial number of the soldier on the interior of both the helmet and liner. While doing a Google search regarding this helmet several listings appeared where a previous owner of this helmet had attempted to do some research regarding the soldier. What I can determine is the man served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam and now rests in Arlington Cemetery. Excellent research potential remains for the new owner.
