Original era manufacture. US Navy NAF Flying Helmet which has been modified by the addition of a stiffened visor installed on the front. See page 289 in Nick Prodger's book "Vintage Flying Helmets" for a similar example.The chamois lined helmet is in sound condition, pliable, with a touch of surface dryness to the surface. The visor appears to be from a US Army enlisted garrison cap with a bound edge, a partial oilcloth sweatband was installed at the same time.Both chinstrap buckles are present, however a chinstrap was not on the helmet at the time of our purchase.  Normal age and wear, no issues.
