Original era manufacture. An interesting, theater modified knife and scabbard. The basis is a standard USMC Kabar, which has had the stacked leather grip removed, and replaced with two dark yellow panels of phenolic, secured to the tang with three phillips-head screws.The scabbard is of simple construction, being two slabs of thick leather, whittled down to suit the purpose, the back panel being slotted with belt loops, and the shorter front panel inscribed with US NAVY SUB. Large copper rivets secure the edges of the scabbard.The blade shows staining from service use, but no real corrosion issues, and the edgehas not been ground down toa nub.Cool knife, too bad the man didn't put his name on it.
