Original era manufacture. Last pattern mounted canteen cover in light OD canvas. These were supposedly preferred by Airborne troops due to the extra strap reinforcing on the reverse. Maker marked and dated 1942 on the reverse of the cover. WWI pattern aluminum canteen dated 1942, stainless steel cup with a 1942 dated handle. Normal age and wear overall.
