Original period manufacture. Parkerized finished blade with makers name on one side of the ricasso, and U.S.NAVY on the other. Stacked leather grip with red spacers at top and bottom. Grip is tight, with no missing or cracked segments. Thick pommel disc with a circular tang. The blade shows evidence of period service sharpening and the point has been slightly rounded. Basically sound brown leather scabbard of riveted and sewn construction. U.S.N. stamped into the throat. The only comment to make on condition is that the pommel strap was removed. Normal age and wear otherwise.
