Original era manufacture. This is a very interesting little grouping which documents the service of a US Sailor who saw many of the major assault landings during WWII. The lot includes five of his dogtags, one with the fingerprint reverse and two showing a Tetanus inoculation in 1942. His boxed WWII Victory Medal, boxed American Campaign Medal, miniature three-place medal bar, two theater made cuff or collar linings, a period bw photo of him embracing an attractive Dorothy Lamour-like island girl in a grass skirt, a captured 1943 Luftwaffe pocket calendar and wallet cards for the Order of the Golden Dragon & Neptunus Rex. The Netunus Rex card was issued aboard the USS Thurston (APA-77) in October of 1942 and the Golden Dragon aboard LST-230 in May of 1945. In addition, the inside cover of the Luftwaffe calendar shows his name and rate with the following notations; Normandy D-Day, Anzio D-Day, Salerno D-Day, Sicily D-Day, North Africa D-Day, Okinawa D-Day, Borneo D-Day and Japan Surrender. If you do an internet search for these two vessels you will see that both saw considerable action during the War.
