Original era manufacture. Dark OD canvas throughout. The upper portion is maker marked ARAKELIAN CO 1945, with a stenciled US on the flap. The lower portion is maker marked VICTORY CANVAS 1945, also with a US stencil on the flap cover. The lower portion is lined with a water protective coating, with a canvas handle on the top of the bag. Postwar, these made excellent tool bags, and were sold by the thousands in Army-Navy stores across America. Subsequently, WWII dated examples have become hard to find. Several of the attaching straps on the lower portion were removed (likely postwar to make it more convenient for storage and carry) but still attaches to the bottom of the upper portion correctly. There is some fraying and fabric loss on the end of one of the straps, but again, no issues with functionality. Correct pair of matching removable shoulder straps, strong color with faded markings.
