Original era manufacture. A trophy flag, printed on a silk handkerchief, likely produced as a souvenir aboard a WWII US Navy warship, to honor the victories of the crew during the war.Thereis a stenciled Japanese Navy pattern flag at the top, markings for the destruction of six aircraft, one ship and the participation in five shore bombardments. Printed silk, with no holes or tears, just some light scattered staining. Measures 16 x 17 inches.
