Original era manufacture. An interesting soldier modified knife, incorporating the forward portion of a US M1905 bayonet blade, and a portion of a USAAF aircraft Pitot tube for the grip.The blade measures 6.5 inches in length, with a mix of original finish and steel patina to the surface, lightly sharpened for service use.Simple brass guard, with lead fill on each side. The grip is made from the forward portion of the USAAF AN-5816-2 aircraft Pitot tube; brass bodied with a Cadium plating.Standard WWII, 1st model M8 scabbard, made without a M1910 belt hook; the tip of the scabbard body is missing.
