Original era manufacture. S.S. President Polk was delivered to American President Lines in the summer of 1941, and acquired by requisition by the US Navy in 1943, being designated U.S.S. President Polk AP-103, a President Jackson Class attack transport. She served throughout the Pacific War, and participated in the Tarawa, Kawajalein, Luzon and Okinawa landings. She earned 6 Battle Stars for her WWII service. Postwar she served in her original capacity as a passenger liner until scrapped in 1970. Spelter model with a copper plaque, ACHIEVEMENT. Measures 8.5 inches in length.
