Original era manufacture. Matched pair of sterling, marked, enameled obverse DI's with the motto "Honor, Fidelity, Courage" at the bottom. Dark silver patina to the metal portions of the insignia. The 756th Tank Battalion saw extensive service during WWII. It landed in North Africa in January 1943, Salerno operations in September of the same year, and two of its companies were converted into amphibious tanks taking part in Operation Dragoon, the invasion of southern France in 1944. It participated in the reduction of the Colmar Pocket, and ended the war near Salzburg Austria in 1945.
