Original period manufacture. Post WWII veterans hat, Survivor's of Pearl Harbor  U.S.S. Mugford. DD-389, USS Mugford, was placed on stand-by service at Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. While building up steam she downed 3 Japanese aircraft with her anti-aircraft guns. She served throughout WWII, and earned 7 battle stars for her service. Blue and white wool overseas hat piped in gold thread. Blue letter embroidery on the left side, with an embroidered patch on the right side. Normal age and wear.
