Original era manufacture. A well made and rather deadly looking fighting knife made by a GI or Sailor in the Pacific Theatre during WWII. Polished steel, double edged steel blade measuring 6.5 inches in length, lightly engraved into one side is Japan 1944. Cast aluminum one piece grip, likely made from scrap from downed aircraft. Traces of names appear on each side of the grip. Simple, handmade leather scabbard with pommel strap.
