Original era manufacture. A nice original groupingof an officer who served with the 6thArmored Infantry Regiment, 1stArmored Division during WWII.The lot consists of his 4-pocket Class A tunic, with all original insignia including a pair of plastic 6th Regiment DI's, sterling CIB and his assorted ribbons to include the Bronze Star ribbon. Wool shirt, dark green wool tie, officer quality light OD wool trousersand a well worn officers pattern overseas hat. Also included is a cut-down class A tunic made into an Ike Jacket with the same set of insignia as the other coat. Of note, the ribbons on the Ike Jacket are sewn in place, and with the award of a Good Conduct medal tells us this officer was promoted from the ranks. The uniform set presents well, with few of the ills often associated with wool clothing from WWII. There are a few minor issues to report, those being a missing shirt button, one of the 1st Lieutenant ranks bars is missing, two of the brass buttons are missing from the Ike jacket, a clutch attachment is missing from a collar US and I do not have an explanation for the 36 above the crossed rifles on the Ike. This set is as it came to us, purchased from a long-time Pennsylvania collector. Size is a snug 40, a great lookinggrouping which is sadly not identified.
