Original era manufacture. Light OD canvas mapcase in good repair,no shoulder strap however. The interior of the flap is clearly U.S.N. marked and on the reverse maker marked BOYT 44.On the front of the flap isthe handwritten name "Penny", no idea when it was done, but an easy fix (and an old military one as well) is to mask it off and paint it over. The mapcase retains it's slip-in map protector and grid but the thin cloth cover is torn. Weseldom see Navy marked field equipment.
