Original era manufacture. A brass gripped knife made in the pattern of a US M1918 fighting knife. The blade is a half inch longer than the regulation knife, and the blade while similar in design is a bit thinner. On the left side of the grip is the name, E.W. SaboHome made leather sheath which is lined metal, with a belt loop at the top. Doing a quick search on Ancestry this morning, I found an E. W. Sabo onboard LST 597 in 1946, service number 570-50-85, so lots of good info for further research.LST 597 earned two battle stars for WWII, Philippines and Okinawa. These are original WWII collector items, made by, or for soldiers fighting in the Pacific and European Theaters during the war; sold as collector items only. The possession of these knives in some states/countries is prohibited. You must know the laws in your locality, state or country prior to ordering.
