Original period manufacture. Multi color chenille type embroidery with a sliver cloth reverse, which is maker stamped Swan Felt & Chenille, Akron Ohio. The design depicts an elephant dropping a bomb while seated on a cloud.It measures five inches in width, never sewn to a jacket. Light age and wear. The 460th was formed in 1944, saw service as a training unit with B-24 Liberators, before transferring to B-29's in 1945. It arrived in Okinawa in the waning days of WWII and never saw combat.
