Original era manufacture and photography. This is a great little grouping awarded to a young lady during WWII. She evidently applied for membership in the "Hellbird Fledglings" a homefront organization supporting the 462nd Bomb Group.The lot includes a miniature, impressed leather squadron patch of the 462nd, an introductory letter, membership card and mailing envelope.The 462nd Bomb Grouptook part in the early B-29 raids into Japan; flying from advance bases in India and China. The patch measures just over 2.5 inches in width.
