Original period manufacture. A painted leather patch which has been removed from a jacket. The image depicts a panther tipped bomb hurtling to earth. It measures 5.25 inches in width, with stitch marks and loose threads around the edges.The 748th Bombardment Squadron formed part of the 457th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force, flying B-17's out of England. Their first raid occurred in February 1944.
