Original period manufacture. Online sources state slightly over 200,000 of this pattern helmet were produced in 1942-1943. This example is complete with it's original liner and chinstrap. The exterior displays a post-production OD overpaint, the long portion of the chinstrap is a replacement, and the two felt liner pads are missing from the inside of the ear covers, otherwise a sound example of the early Flak helmet of WWII based on the standard GI M1 pattern helmet.
