Original era photography and paperwork. An interesting grouping of photographs and documents honoring the service and sacrifice of Lt. Frank Carter USAAF. He was serving as a co-pilot on a B-24 Liberator when it crashed on the 17th of September 1945. Killed in service when TB-24J Liberator#42-78549 ran out of fuel and crashed inrugged terrain, 38 miles north of Deeth,Nevada, while the air crew were attemptingto return to base at Gowen Field, Idaho,during a nighttime training flight.One crew member was able to bail out andattempt to parachute but received a fatalinjury to his neck upon striking rocks.Killed in service were:1st Lt.
