Original era manufacture. This is a great looking early producti9on USMC marked Kabar with lots of character. Blade marked U.S.M.C. on the obverse ricasso and Ka-Bar Olean NY on the reverse. Traces of it's original finish remain on the blade along with some light scattered surface corrosion. The edge is sound as is the point. Thin stacked leather grip with black and red spacers at top and bottom, thin pommel disc with a circular bladetang. The initials JK are deeply carved into the bottom of the grip just above the guard on one side. Very soundbrown leather scabbard with an intricate, hand carved design on the body of the scabbard. Pommel strap is sound, with a shoelace as a leg tie. A great looking old knife which could certainly tell it's share of stories if it could only talk.
