Original era manufacture. OD, hbt material, women's pattern overseas cap with a bronze colored EGA at left front.The hat is sound, with light staining from service use and wear. Inside is an embroidered name tag for Virginia M. Schmidt. Doing a quick look on Ancestry, this name appears on USMC muster rolls from July 1945, to July 1946. Another entry shows a similarly named individual married to a Minnesota Marine who was wounded during WWII. Certainly worthy of further research.
