Original period manufacture. Early production Kabar with the ricasso marked on the obverse USMC and on the reverse, KA-BAR, Olean NY. The blade is bright with little of its original finish remaining except for on the blade spine. Sound stacked leather grip with no missing segments or chipping. Thick pommel with a round blade tang. Sound leather scabbard with a hand incised letter H on its front. Classic Gyrene fighting/utility knife of the Pacific War.
