Original era manufacture. Classic WWII Marine utility knife, with a stacked leather grip. Early production with a blue finish to the blade, KABAR Olean NY and U.S.M.C. marked on the ricassos. The blade exhibits honest age and wear, with a nice original finish and evidence of an old intelligent sharpening, no corrosion issues.Stacked leather grip with a thick pommel and circullar tang. No broken or missing segments.Well used leather sheath of riveted and sewn construction, with an intact pommel strap.Stamped USMC Boyt 43. I took the scabbard out into the bright sunshine and made out the name WM or William Toy in several places, along with his hometown of Mount Carmel Pa. Might be fun to check this out research-wise.
