Original era manufacture. US WWII identified USMC uniform set. Set consists of overseas hat with metal EGA, brown leather belt, green wool service coat and matching trousers, both dated 1942, and both named to Richard White, or R.C. White. The hat and belt are not named. The coat displays Corporal chevrons on each sleeve, 3rd Marine Division SSI on the left shoulder and a machine sewn Ruptured Duck emblem over the upper right pocket. Above the left pocket is a 2 place ribbon bar for the Purple Heart and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon with 2 Stars. Ancestry shows a Richard C. White as serving with the 3rd Marine Division from January 1944-January 1945, during which time the 3rd MarDiv saw combat on Guam and Iwo Jima. Certainly worth further research. Minor mothing, nothing dreadful. Coat is a size 3L, trousers have a similar size mark, hat is size marked 7 1/8.
