Original period manufacture. A bright finished blade, unmarked, and without fullers. Simple oval steel guard, again unmarked, stacked leather grip with a smooth finish and a circular pommel disc with a rectangular tang.The blade shows wear and use with denting on the top of the spine, and a poor attempt at edge sharpening. In addition, a previous owner tried to engrave a portion of possibly aSocial Security number on the right side. The guard is bent a bit as shown, the grips are very sound.Standard US Navy Mk2 scabbard in sound condition, normal age and wear.
