Original era manufacture. Large size document with a printed FDR signature. Presented to the family of Ernest Leroy West USN, who was killed aboard the aircraft carrier USS Hancock on 7 April 1945. The USS Hancock CV-19 an Essex class carrier was struck by a Japanese Kamikaze aircraft on 7 April 1945 which resulted in the loss of over 60 crewman. Included with the document are several printed pages regarding this incident.
