Original period manufacture. Blue finished blade which is USN and Pal marked on it's ricassos. Stacked leather grip with no cracks or missing segments, wooden pommel. There are some small dings in the grip and pommel from a previous owner using the knife for an unintended purpose, that being of a light hammer. They aren't too deep but are visible when the knife is in it's sheath. The pommel has a very thin crack in it's surface running through both sides. It is quite secure and does not move. Sound brown leather sheath which is USN marked at the throat, sound pommel strap, and a previous owners initials M.E.B. lightly scratched into it's surface.
