Original period manufacture. An early production, blade marked knife, Robeson Shuredge on the obverse and U.S.N. MARK 2 on the reverse ricasso. The blade now displays an even steel patina with evidence of old service sharpening and use. The tip is sound and there are no nicks in the cutting edge. Thin style, stacked leather grip with no missing segments. Thick pommel disc with a circular blade tang. U.S.N. MK2 gray plastic issue scabbard with a canvas belt loop and pommel strap.
