Original era manufacture. A 12 x 5 inch section of wool bunting of the Homeward Bound Pennanat of the U.S.S. Black Hawk, commemorating the ending cruise away from home of 243 months. Returned to San Francisco, CA 11/11/42.The USS Black Hawk was a destroyer tender, launched in 1913 as SS Santa Catalina, and purchased by the Navy in 1917, and commissioned into the fleet in May of 1918.She saw service during WWI, and during WWII, Borneo, Australia, Pearl Harbor, Adak Alaska, and China.'A nice little piece of history.
