Original era manufacture. US WWII one-piece brown and white seersucker field hospital uniform. Originally designed for nurses serving overseas. Its use was extended to nurses serving in the U.S. in 1945. This uniform comes with the brown and white striped seersucker nurse's cap which laces in the back. This seersucker material was comfortable and did not have to be ironed. The dress tied at the left waist and had one pocket on the right skirt and two false pockets on the bodice. An inside tie was added to the underside of the skirt because it tended to blow open in the wind. This dress may be seen in "Dressed for Duty", volume one, by Jill Halcomb-Smith. This dress is in very good condition and is a size 14. With the tie waist it can be adjusted easily to fit. It is 41 inches long.
