Original era manufacture. A US made bayonet by Remington, under contract by Great Britain during WWI.Bright finished blade with a band of blue at the ricasso, clear Remington proof, with a 1913 pattern date, and manufacture date of 1-17, prior to America's entry into WWI.The blade surface is clean, with scattered small nicks or dents in the edge, more felt than seen. Light scattered staining but no surface corrosion.Steel patina finish to the guard and pommel, with evidence of old cleaned corrosion to the surface. Unit markings (I think) stamped into the guard German style; 5.P.5.K.30. Original wood grips displaying typical marring and denting from service use. Standard pattern British 1907 scabbard, black leather body with blackened steel throat and chape.
