Item #69663 : Original period manufacture. Matching letterhead, sheet and envelope, Kiel's Hotel in Council Bluffs Iowa, dated October 11th 1890. The letter was written by a man to a young woman, possibly a sister named Stella Patterson. The content is very interesting describing the trials of his journey thus far. In those days this would have involved Stagecoach, rail and river travel. He teasingly writes of traveling with an attractive young woman part of the way. Very clear Council Bluffs postal stamp, and as I mentioned the letterhead is very attractive. Fun closing fact the Kiel's Hotel building is still standing, now an upscale restaurant. Wyoming became the 44th state July 10th 1890.
